There's a thread in here about a guy saying his powertrax locker when temps got low outside it made a grinding noise until fluid in case warmed up. If you ride on the beach a lot front locker will completly change ride from what was explained to me wheeling becomes more like point and shoot cause it'll go threw almost anything but steering while on throttle becomes a bit more difficult & not as easy to control.

I got the PowerTrax No-Slip in my 8.25 and it makes a world of difference. You can still hear it pop, but its nothing compared to my buddies aussie. Ive had mine for I think 4,000 miles and its holdin up good both on and off the road

ya i use my jeep to drive to college alot, its 60 miles of 75 mph interstate driving, and work is 30 miles of the same, and temperatures get to -20 or -30 here at times, you still think the power trax would be a good option for the rear?

when you change something theres pros and cons. i say listening to a clicking noise is more than worth having a locked diff so if it was me id put it in and get used to it, its just a clicking noise. if you dont like it then pony up for an arb
thats my $.02
thats my $.02

If your on the highway, you dont hear a thing, its only on turns. First time you drive with the locker itll pop REAL loud and youll think you broke something. Thats normal, the sound goes down from there. I only hear it much now when i take tighter turns. But I go highway to school and its not had a problem

I would not put an LBL in the front if you are ever going to drive in ice and snow. It will totally change the way your jeep drives.
I had an Aussie in the rear and even w/super swampers, it had good road manners in ice and snow. If things got sketchy, I would just put it in 4hi, and never any problems.
If you need to drive in ice/snow, do a selectable locker in front or a true trac.

ya thats what i forgot to ask about, how lockers affect your vehicle on icy slick roads. if i had aussie lockers in front, and pro trax in that back, and i put my rig in 4 hi for the icy roads, would it slide all over the place, like on a slow corner or something? i still want it to handle good on icy roads, will this combonation of lockers compromise that? what are probably the best lockers for icy roads?

Best lockers for ice/snow, is a selectable locker. Eaton e-locker, or ARB. Truetrac in front is a good compromise. If you are going to drive it as much as you say, on hwy, spend the cash on a selectable, get a truetrac, or leave it open. The weather in WY, is similar to CO. I would not want to be driving in ice w/a front LBL.

Yes, a front auto locker will keep your rig going straight when you are trying to turn. I don't see it now, but when I bought my Aussie last year, I thought it had on the site not to install in front if to be used in ice/snow. Maybe it was in my owners manual, or via email though. But you can always email/call them to ask.
