A drop in lunchbox style locker works great.

They are automatic, they stay locked until you go around a turn then the outside wheel uncouples and spins faster than the inside wheel, it relocks when the inside tire catches back up with the outside tire.

A Detroit Trutrack. They work seamlessly, smoothly and silently. Downside is they are more work to install than a Lunchbox locker.
