As for how I carry a long gun, I have an IWI Tavor SAR-21 that fits in a back pack with 4 mags that can easy fit anywhere in the jeep. But having over 2500 invested in this one gun I don't leave it in the jeep. I carry a Gen-4 Glock 19 on my person, anytime I leave the house. Because my ***** can't protect my family.

Like others have stated I don't keep a long gun in the Jeep that much because of theft. If I felt the need to I would get something like this for when I was not in it.

Fwiw I've yet to see someone walking down the road with a rifle parading it around. The ops question was about spots to secure a rifle in your vehicle.

When im out on my land in the country i keep a Remington 870 marine magnum in the passenger seat or back seat. Good gun, doesnt rust and i dont have to be scared about it not firing when i beat it up a bit. Lot of muds been though that thing
