Default moaning wheel?

ok so i got a 98' XJ. when i turn my steering wheel full left or right, my steering wheel moans. im not quit sure where its coming from. untill now ive just been blasting my music up and the noise goes away. but i want to fix it. anyone here have any related issues please jump on this thread. thanks guys.

I have had a few cars do that. I don't think anything is wrong I think it is just the power steering being maxed out so to speak....just letting you know "hey that's it, that's as far left/right I can go" I could be wrong though.

Don't know if this applies to the xj or not but my 97 tj had the moaning there is a rubber boot on the steering column right where it goes through firewall spray some silicone spray on the boot it worked on my tj.

yup, both my tj's do this whenever it gets cold out.

like said, it's a rubber boot, nothing to really worry about.
i'm used to it, and kinda like it. lol.

yea i get what you are saying. no, i know what that sounds like its not that kind of moan. my pump is working fine, just flused it like 2 weeks ago.

ok so i sprayed some WD-40 ont the boot near the firewall. and POOF the noise is gone. thanks guys.
