Just my $.02...I think that black steelies has become what ankle biting teenies put on their 4wd's to make em look hardcore, when mommy and daddy probably banned them from ever leaving gravel.
It used to not be this way, and yes they do have their place, but thats all i ever see anymore is tweens and their black steelies.

As far as wheels go, I would personally say go with the steels. If you're not going to be doing much offroading, you don't have to worry about bending them. And even if they do rust, you can always just buy some wheel paint for like $20 and repaint them. Idk, that's your call.
However, if you go with steel, I'm gonna have to say don't get the Soft 8's just because almost everyone has them. Sure they look good, but it never hurt to stand out a bit. I'm thinking about getting the Cragar 310 Series Nomad I wheels (http://www.cragar.com/ProductView.as...8&bq=%3fc%3d15). IMO I think they would look just as good, if not better than the soft 8's.
In the end, it's all just a matter of what you prefer though

total mis-information here. your hardcore wheelers will prefer an aluminum wheel over steel.

Well said. I've had three different sets of steelies, but only one set saw the trails. I didn't get to play on much rock, so I didn't ding them up. I can definately see it taking one good hit or scrape on a rock and rust will be in the future and I dislike rust as well.
The other advantage of steel wheels other than cost, is your backspacing options. You will have far more than with an aluminum wheel. That's one reason I chose my previous soft 8 wheels. Steelies look good and easy on the wallet, but the soft 8 (or the like) are way over done. I second guessed them when I put them on and I now have some Gambler (aluminum) wheels and quite pleased.

They look pretty neat on it but I couldn't live with the wobble.
I searched around for some nice stock wheels and found the icons were pretty sweet:
They have a bit too much shine so i cured that with a little brown stuff

well shut me up...I have been misinformed. I have steel wheels and like them very much, but I did think they were better for off-road than alloys. Alloys just look too pretty to go off-road. Steel looks cool too when you hit a rock and the sparks fly. Mine get a little dented here and there, but they hold up alright.

I thought about these on my old green wrangler at one time. They are reakl old school. My dad had a 79 F-250 with these on it and it looked awesome. I think a wrangler on this would give it a CJ vibe. If i decided to go steel it willbe these or the D-Windows in silver.
