I'm now stuck between the super 40, 40, and super 44 for flowmaster. For the super 40 it doesn't say it goes to a Cherokee but the inlet diameter is the same as the 40 for the Cherokee so would it fit? Also there are multiple super 40s that can fit also. I may just go with the super 44 cause even though it has a little less aggressive sound I do need to be discrete around were I wheel.

The outlet may be offset in the wrong place?

i have the flowmaster 40 muffler installed on my xj and it sounds great at 1500rpm. it's pretty quiet below 1500rpm and not that loud at higher than that.

Running a Flowmaster Super 44 on my XJ, and overall I'm not really in love with it. It sounds great at idle, low deep rumble, but from the drivers compartment, it sounds "ricey" through much of the lower in-town driving rpm range, and is hardly noticeable over the motor when on the throttle. My 2cents.

I got a Flowmaster knock-off a (flowsound) from Ebay. It was $39.95 delivered. I normally DO NOT buy the cheap Chinese knock offs. But for less than half the price of a Flowmaster. Pretty happy with it...

I have the Flowmaster Super 44. Sounds nice; almost no drone when on the high way. You will be able to hear people on the trails, but it also gives a nice growl at idle.

I was going to get a Super 40 on my 93 5.2V8 GC....but then when I went in for my appt he said the offsets were wrong so put in a Super 44

sorry this best I've got now...did a pic of his welds, not of the muffler...but you see part of it

Super 44 is the best bang for your buck imo has more of an aggressive sound and people will hear you when you hit the gas.
