My 30mpg 2001 XJ
Yeah right! So I have a 2001 AW4 stock and the last few tanks have been getting worse....12mpg....11mpg and the last tank I got 10!! Thats right, I got a whopping 154 miles on my tank. No CEL so I figured it is an O2 sensor. Bought myself a ScanGaugeII but turns out it doesn't have sensor functions but I thought I would monitor what if gave for instant mpg. On my way to my inlaws tonight, 60mph on the highway and it was bouncing from 28-31mpg!! Yeah......I don't think so! Weird thing is the rpm, speed and temp was showing accurate. Guess I'm gonna try and sell it on CL and buy something a bit better.

I'm on the app so I can't see where you're from, but if you start your jeep in the morning to warm up, you're technically getting 0 miles to the gallon. During winter I don't expect miracles from my efficiency, but I do expect it to perform in any condition. If you're looking for something that gets good gas mileage, an XJ isn't for you :/

Lolz. The last time my overhead console read 30mpg I was coasting in 4wd full time. Obviously not an accurate reading.
Stock Cherokee is probably getting 16-20 mpg.

I had little 235's, with a set of axles, long arms, my life... And got 17mpg.
But my bumps had rotted off and i hit a bump which bottomed out my shocks ending in my pass. side shock mount cracking off of the axle.
I got good gas millage my entire 1000 mile trip, just didn't have a shock for half of it.(i have bumps now)
Maybe it's my young engine, 125,xxx
Well anyway good luck on the search for mpg's
