Let us know how it goes for you tomorrow. It's a damn shame that this nation causes dreams and joys to become few and far between because *** clowns in DC can't figure out the difference between a sneeze and a wet fart.
I'll keep you in my prayers man. Stay positive, and positive things will happen.

Thanks for the words guys. Think the general plan is I'm gonna try to get a job in the evening or over night an watch the kids while she is at work during the day. I can make it by on an 8 or 9 dollar an hour job if I'm not putting out 200 week for daycare. Ive made it thru worse an will come out the other side fine but there will still be no way to justify the lift in the closet as even a job like that may take a few weeks to get. Most you married guys know how often 1700 dollars falls in your lap. It'll be next years tax return before I see any shot at that again. Either way tomorrow I should find out. Thanks again guys. This really is a great community

I've been there, we were both laid off for a year lost everything but our pets (cars, house, etc.). It all works out in the end, trust me I never thought i would get to work on Jeeps all day, but i stumbled upon it by accident. Just goes to show you never know what good can come from something that SEEMS so bad. Keep your head kid. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

i feel your pain man, i'm in the same boat, lost my job back in november, so my lift kit went bye bye, and its now sporting a $100 piece together jy lift and cheap tires i bought on craigslist. Keep your chin up man, it will get better. Btw i used to live in alaska, i think its time to go live in the bush i am hating the economy, can't find crap for work, up there though you kind of have to kill your food before it kills you.

I know the feeling. I bought my lift in January 2010, then I lost my job (service man at Midas) I was off work for 3 months. Found a job in a complete different field, but had stuff to pay that I was late on. Lift is still sitting under my bed because I had other stuff to fix first too. Wife can't wait for me to install it, she's fed up of seeing it there, lol. As you know, almost everyone went that path. Anyways, good luck and hopefully you will still have a job.

Lol I'm a true country boy. I can think of nothing better in life than standing on the front porch or a house I built with nobody around for miles. Hunting an fishing for food an going to town every couple months for the rest of lifestyle needs. Don't think the wife an kids would fair as well but that's my ultimate dream. I've tried to find a job an way to move up there 3 times.

you could pan for gold up there, lots of it around, kinda dangerous though. other jobs up there could be working on the oil pipeline, that pays big bucks, plus every year you live up their you get dividend checks because of the oil, when i left in 95 i was 13 and getting a check for 2000 ish. when i was born though it was close to 1k, cool too cuz the money normally came in oct or november, add that to your tax return you got plenty of money to survive in the bush. just gotta make it the first year and you start getting paid to live their, including your kids and wife. Well i just saw the estimated pay out for the dividend in 2010 was only $1281 but its not like a tax return you didn't pay in to get that. Also don't forget the iditarod cash prizes if you can train some dog and mush:

The guy that made number 5 was my neighbor when i lived in wasilla, but there are other ways to make money around the iditarod if you know about radio comm, camps for the mushers etc and that was from 08 dunno what the prize is now.
The thought has crossed my mind allot too, especially considering i still have family up their i could stay with till i got on my feet. Just hope my xj will make it through canada and across the alcan. I'm sure it will though. There are places up there you can go that no one has ever set foot before, its truly amazing, just carry a .357 magnum in case you come across a bear, or moose or wolf, or various other critters hell bent on eating you.

I hear ya man. I'm married with 2 kids, and Just got let go this morning. Sucks, I got a Rough Country track bar, Rock Krawler boomerang shackles, and 1" coil spacers sitting here staring me in the face.
I have been looking for a new job for a while, 'cause this job was getting kinda iffy, but I thought I had a bit more job security than I did.
And i've been thinking about Canada to, haha.
