my little rack in the back!
Hey guys! I just built this today! And am wonderin what you guys think!? It fits in the trunk of the xj perfectly length and width sits 13 inches off the floor so it can fit up to a 33" ! I have inges in the middle so it can fold up like 4 inches(till the legs hit the wheel well) for easier access to storage undeneath! Its full removable and is a great cover up! I am seeing if there in any interest in it at all so I can maybe start building them for people!!! Please let me know if you'd ever be interested and how much you'd pay?! I can even paint to your liking if wanted just let me know! Thanks guys! Btw that's a 31 in the trunk on a rim inflated!

I see why you guys with large tires try to find other ways to stow you spare...I think my stock full size tire takes up too of the cargo area putting it where it belongs...JMO...but if it doesn't fit where a normal spare goes....I'd get it on the roof or on a carrier on the back...Couldn't see losing that much cargo room...kind of defeats the purpose of having it to begin with...

Thats not a bad idea, i like it.
The only thing i wouldent feel comfortable with would be those 4 legs in the front.
But if you carpeted it, i would proubly pay $50 for the set all finshed and ready to slide it.

I hear ya, i had to go to harbor freight this winter and buy a welder. Honestly i do not see wood holding up to the test of time and stress. It's going to crack, warp, split, vibrate, etc.
Not saying it is a bad idea, just don't think wood is up to it.
