that is what it always seems like and then one day, she'll just show up out of hte blue. i wasn't even looking to meet a girl when i met cristina. we were playing bowling for beer and my buddy was afraid to talk to some girl at the pool table so i got sent over (i'm not shy or afraid to talk to people). after finding out the girl he wanted was only 16 and cristina was 18, i told her to come over because my buddy wanted them to come bowl with us.
she said" how about we skip your buddy and go straight to you and me."
thats been the way it is since the night before valentine's day in 98. we have been all over texas and lower east coast up to north carolina. through the broke times and the good times. still going and she is still as beautiful as the day we met.
so, don't go looking for her and she'll show up.

her liberty has a 2.5" (not spacer) lift with aftermarket control arms too. i think i forgot to mention that. it also has the trac loc rear dif with ful skid plates. she likes it and can't wait till we go 4x4ing with all the other offroad guys.

Cool wives are hard to come by but I found one also. I am in Iraq rite now and my wife told me about half way through my tour over here that she had started a truck fund for me. So when I get home from this oven of a place I will have money to spend on the XJ unless she lets me lift her WK. I love my wife.

Your mileage may vary, but I will tell you that I took exellent care of my 02 Liberty and it gave out at 105k (threw a rod) There are a lot of horror stories on the intarwebs. My Lib was the family car (never taken offroad) and didn't really give us any trouble for the first 90k miles, then things started to go downhill.

ours was used for a daily with time on the desert trails prior to us owning it. since we owned it, it was only used as a family vehicle. ours was totally stock when we bought it and i put all the lift stuff on it. until the motor issue, ours had zero problems also. the 2002 models had heavier duty parts then the later models is why most people look for the 2002 models but the engines are still iffy. your 3.7 is interchangeable with the liberty ones for a certain range of years so it can possibly have the same issue. i would try to get rid of it if it were me but thats just because of how expensive it is to replace when it goes.
what saves you is that you can also swap other motors into your dakota, liberties can only have the 3.7 or the diesel motor (which is even more expensive). at least you can upgrade to a v8
keep an eye on your radiator and watch the temp gauge. you might want to send an oil sample out to check for metal every once in a while too. other then that, its your truck so take care of it
