New Cherokee owner... '86 XJ
I introduced myself the other day in the other forum... I mentioned I picked up an '86 Cherokee. The clock shows only 38,000 miles. It does have the 2.8 V6, but runs fantastic. No rust.. Interior looks like it was never used. It has the optional 20 gallon fuel tank.

in my opinion u should paint them rims black or get different one, depends on ur budget then take off ur fender flares and trim ur fenders and throw on a set of 265/75/15 a/t's and a after-market muffler

looks great, plus unless i'm mistaken 86 was the last year for a true AMC jeep, before the 87 takeover by chrysler. from what i seen, it doesn't look like they changed a whole lot, just nice to be able to have something that doesn't have chrysler associated with it.
on that note, i still love my 96 cherokeee

You are right. I have the original keys with the AMC logo on them as well as the logo is set in the dash panel.
