Hey guys hows it going? Never saw this thread, great idea man. Props to you. Heres what i have:

1986 AMC/ Jeep Comanche Custom 2.5L I4 4 spd AX-4 2WD Dana 35C 8.9' solid rear. 132,850 on the clock. I am the second owner! found it sitting in the back of a quarry behind a shed in southeastern PA. Just passed by it, lol. Asked the guy:
"Are you selling the Comanche"
"What, that red thing we were going to sell for scrap?"
"Red, uhh.......Yeah, how much?!?"
"Uhhh.... four...... hundred??"
"Lets go take a look. Where is the title and keys?"
"In it. Been there 'BOUT 22 YEARS NOW"
"{Jaw drops} Wow."

Holy ***** this thing was covered in quarry dust. It looked yellowish white from afar. wiped some dust off... yep. red. The dust had saved the frame and most of the floor. I think my frame has about 4 sq. inches of rust. not rot. surface rust. wow.

It was in bushes, camouflaged. should've taken a picture.
wasn't thinking there was a huge 90's steel fridge in the bed. I scrapped that.
due to the fridge, it leans a bit to the left
So after looking at the truck for a while, i figured it needed a fresh battery (stock one in it boiled or something... there was little to no acid in the old one, and the case was corroded and stained like it had been leaking for years.), four new plugs, and new gas (old gas smelled like aunt jemima's????)
when i turned the key, it was like firing up a coal plant. every light( door/ dome, dash, radio, ac panel, etc etc) flickered as it got brighter, the buzzer was like ehh.......ehh...ehh........eeeeeeeeeeeeeehehheeeee ehhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEE.... lol

the first time i cranked it, it started!, but then died and bang. the cat conv. blew up. like blew a hole out the side??? weird. tried again and it started fine, purred like a kitten... the old man just said "F*CK!!"

so, got this for $400:

I guess I can play too, both of my XJs are stock although one won't be in about a week and a half.

The one that's staying stock was my first XJ, a 2001 Sport that now has 140k on the clock. It got me through everything I needed it to just fine in stock form. During the 2009-10 winter it made it through some pretty deep snow on the crappy all seasons it came with on days when there was nobody else on the roads.

I bought its replacement, a 2000 Sport, about two weeks ago. A guy who was into restoring and building hot rods bought it back in the day for his wife and kept it up really well. Was advertised with 77k miles, actually had just under 76k. Scooped it up for $5k. It won't be stock for long but it is now.
