If you see also, my deep footprints in the sand, I did not make those deep impressions by my lonesome. No sir, I could not have, as I am not that heavy of a person, but in trying to carry your, <insert beloved female here>, I sank deeper into the sand with every step I took.

Well, it's not exactly a roof rack now, is it? They're Yakima cross bars that attach and detach from the gutters with the twist of a ****. The "stickers" are actually clings and no, my tail lights are most definitely not smoked.

Just checking, you can never be too careful nowadays with this whole internet fad going on

Thanks for your caution but its pretty simple. The club is for stock looking vehicles that are not modified with other than factory lifts, no permenant roof racks or roof lights, modified bumpers or winches. When you add something like these things, you have gone beyond stock look and function and thus would 'graduate' to a higher form of Cherokee-dom-ism.
SO yes, I expect a majority of 'Grocery Getters' and 'Mall Crawlers' to join, and I'm hoping people like myself can convince those people to take it off road occasionally ( my secret mission here )
What you do to it, like tinted windows, custom wheels and tires, stereo systems, and yes, even that Yakima rack is cool. The keywords were 'No Tools' . Heck, I think some came with fog lights on the front as a factory option, so go for it. I consider these things personality makers. I'm even running an upgraded 3 row radiator, but that did not alter the stock look.
I had no idea this would be such a bone of contention with anyone. Perhaps, since I really do want to get another Cherokee that I do want to mod, and really do want to benefit from others builds, I will start another club for these peeps as well. How about the "The Cherokee Mod Squad" ? I really don't want to miss out on the experiences and friendships of those who feel they have something to contribute, and I certainly had no intention to offend anyone.

Look, it's about stock Cherokees. If he says 'okay, I'll let you in because you're just lifted 2 inches' then the next guy will come along and say, 'Hey, I'm only 2.5, can I join?' then 3, then 6 and at some point it's not a group anymore, it's just Cherokee Forum. He can draw the line wherever he wants and if you're not happy with it, join another club
I see this more about what you do with your XJ, not what you do to your XJ and I'm in.

No it about meeting a certain expectation, of a certain individual.
