Default New project

Just bought 89 cherokee, total city jeep. Long term project is to make it strictly off road. Besides lift, what is the next thing I should look at to upgrade?

Since you have a Renix XJ you'll want to read up and do Cruiser's tips.

@ Nick B, thanks for the grounding tips! Awesome that somebody went to the trouboe of typing this up! @Andrewmp6, I'm in AZ. What's mud look like? lol

It has a D35 rear end. Is it worth it to put a locker in or am I just asking for breakage? My wife will be driving it mostly and not doing anything too extreme. Thinking of a Power Trax.

If you don't care about having abs you can swap in a chrysler 8.25.Its a stock rear end for the none abs xj its a lot stronger then a dana 35.The 97 and newer xj got the 29 spline 8.25 which most say is the best one to use.
