Default New Shoes! 31s on stock xj.

So I just picked up an awesome deal on tires. 99 xj with upcountry package, NO rubbing with 31s. I was very surprised. Anyway, I picked up a set of kenda klever m\t which I must say is an awesome looking tire, especially for the money. I paid $127 a tire, mounted and balanced. I thought this was an incredible deal for any mt tire. Makes ol greenie look much better.

Looks good, but no rubbing? what about full lock?
Upcountry must have a slight lift over standard height.

Yes, no lift, no rubbing. Upcountry has about an inch factory lift. I think it looks more like two.

Thanks, green looks best on the xj. Going to do a 2 inch lift this summer and get a safari rack and maybe front locker.

I might be wrong, wouldn't be the first time but I thought the upcountry suspension was a 2 inch lift, make sure you do your research to get what you want.

No rubbing, unless you turn quickly or flex a bit :P

Maybe it is 2 inches. Sure looks like it when parked next to a regular one. It's also got limited slip rear diff, more skid plates tow package, 3:73 gears rear sway bar delete and some other stuff. It's a really cool package from the factory.

Well thanks. It took me 3 months to find a 99 with no abs and the upcountry package. Kind of a rare bird.

All Chrysler 8.25 Cherokees don't have abs and I see a lot more 8.25s than I do Dana 35s.

Upcountry package might be a rarer find, but in the long run if you're lifting it yourself it's a bit pointless I don't know what your future plans are though.

The good thing about that upcountry package is the recovery points and skids.

3.73 gears? what engine/transmission you have? reason being is my 97' has all those from factory also but it has 3.55 gears. mines the 4.0l aw4. mine was as far as I can tell, built with off roading in mind, upcountry lift and package, full skids, lsd rear, rear sway delete, tow package, tow hooks, full size spare, etc....
