New "you know you drive an xj when"

☠ CF Sheriff ☠
Mine ALWAYS starts, just has a knock that likes to come and go. My timing advances and retards itself whenever it wants to.... Even when I'm in the middle of driving, which makes the slight knock it has either go away one day or sound like it's going to throw a rod the next. I can literally drive down the street, hit a bump, and the timing will drastically change which will either make it feel like I hit an invisible wall or hit boost. You can hear the exhaust note change and everything and I can't figure out what the hell is causing it. When it's knocking it runs like a bat out of hell, when it's quiet it runs like a dog (Top speed of 45mph, if I can get it there)

Think the map sensor issue would change with vehicle incline? I only ask because my issue does. As soon as I hit a certain incline the Jeep bogs out like its fighting against 100mph winds. I slow down from 65 to 30 every time I drive up my mountain. I cruise all the way up it with peddle left to spare, but as soon as I hit the one spot of the hill that is just a tad more steep than the rest it's like the flip of a switch.
YKYDAXJW your hammer is used more often than your dent puller. =)

Ykydaxj when the UPS guy is like Santa Claus and opening your lift kit boxes is like opening presents on Christmas morning.

You know you drive an XJ when you trade a VR6 Jetta with 86K miles for an 89 XJ with 328K miles straight across, and regret none of it.

YKYDAXJW you come back from a two week vacation and the very first thing you do when you get home is give your Jeep a big ole' hug. I travelled for 18 hours solid that day and came home to start working on the Jeep. =) Talk about withdrawl......

You know you drive an XJ when you pull into a salvage yard and they already have a pile of XJ parts pulled for you.
...when you point at every other XJ and say "JEEP!" so much that your gf whacks you.
...when the people at the woodchip dump don't say a word when you "test the 4 wheel drive" on the 40' pile of woodchips.
...the body falls apart before the driveline does.
...when you specifically go out in bad snowstorms just for the chance to put the 4wd to good use.
