I do however know what my compression test results were thanks to my handy notebook I wrote them down in haha.
Cyl 1 - 144psi
Cyl 2 - 147psi
Cyl 3 - 147psi
Cyl 4 - 147psi
Cyl 5 - 147psi
Cyl 6 - 145psi
Test was done around April and my leak down test (done right after) was also good.

Thats within stock specs and there is absolutely no reason you should have to run premium. Maybe its running lean? (higher octane=more resistance to detonation)
Cylinder Compression Pressure
Ratio ............................... 8.7:1
Pressure Range............... 827 to 1,034 kPa (120 to 150 psi)
Max. Variation Between Cylinders ................. 206 kPa (30 psi)

YKYDAXJW the highlight of your day is when you show off your jeeps Christmas lights to the co workers and how them how you did it.
Heck YKYDAXJW you have people honking and giving you thumbsup and smiles cause of the Christmas lights on your jeep

It's definitely not running lean haha. When I let my Jeep warm up in the morning the whole neighborhood can smell it. It doesn't smell as rich as a race car, but it's definitely running rich.

Im pretty sure that when the check engine light comes on it puts the computer into open loop where it runs a pre determined fuel and air log depending on RPMs and bypasses some sensors. (cause if the sensor isnt working then it corrects it.) but it usually makes the engine run rich.
im not sure for OBD1 but i know MOST OBDII vehicles do this...
this is why having the check engine light on kills gas mileage and can wear out seals in engine because gas eats at em more.
