i have no hood vents or shims, usually stays below 200 even when crawling. well flushed coolant system, CSF 3 row rad, and an e-fan force switch.

If your system is functioning properly, you don't need vents to stop you from overheating. That doesn't mean they won't help reduce the ambient underhood temperature, though.

Indeed. heat soak misfire is annoying lol.

back on topic, ykydaxj when you come to an obstacle while wheeling, you and your buddy get out and check it out with worried expressions, then crawl it anyways.

When you see a sweet lifted XJ and then get depressed cause you didn't have your XJ to park next to it and take a picture.
