I actually saw a build thread where someone took the cupholder off their bike and drilled it into their center stack. innovations for the future

My 96 optional cupholder almost cost me my wife/wheelin partner!
Dumped 2 full cups on her left leg on the first rough patch 2 weekends ago!
But, the XJ is ultimately HERS so we won't be getting her gone anytime soon.
hahhaha

Cupholders are the only thing they could possibly improve on an XJ...!

I wish i could put the newer 97-01 interior
Mainly the dash in my 89, im sure thats a heck of a lot
of work tho lol

I personally like the outside look of the older Xjs better
but the newer Xjs interior is far more attractive.

They're all great, but I prefer the older style.

I like my 2000- little more power and electronic ignition. Plus I like the front clip a WHOLE lot more, but any XJ is just awesome, no matter what year. Plus I like my 97+ soundbar.

If I could have any year, it would be a 1999. By this time Jeep got it right. High pinion Dana 30, stout 8.25" rear axle, HO 4.0 liter with the updated intake manifold. Pre cracking head....then the death of the Cherokee was on the doorstep, Jeep seems to have stopped investing in upgrading the XJ in '00 and '01. Cracking heads, low pinion axles, etc., (I know, distributorless ignition, the only reason the Cherokee got it is because Grand Cherokees and Wranglers got it).

But anything 1991 - 1999 would do me just fine (Sorry Renix guys).

I got to go with 99 was the best year IMO. 0630 head newer intake fold in mirrors cup holders 29 spline 8.25... But most years had there advantage 87 to 89 had the Dana 44 91 to 96 were the high out puts and 96 to 99 had newer front end and upgraded rear and high pinion dana 30 theyre all good
