Onboard Air System
So I started my onboard air system install. These are all items given to me or I had laying around. I'm at work and only have 1 pic to share right now but I'll have lots more later.
Parts list consist of an 18-wheeler air pump and I think a 3 or 5 gallon tank. We hooked a gauge up to it, flipped it on, and it shot up to 200 psi so I quickly realized I needed a shut off switch. Picked up 1 at Grainger Supply for $28 (only money invested so far). It's the cutoff switch you see on shop air compressors but it'll work. It's preset to kick on the compressor at 120 psi and shut it off at 150 psi but my tank is only rated for 150 so I'm setting it to shut off at 120. My dad hooked me up with some 3/8" stainless line and fittings that are rated for 1000 psi. These will run from the pump to the tank. He also hooked me up with some 1/4" stainless line and fittings. The 1/4" will come out the bottom of the tank, run along the edge of my tool box, and exit out the rear hatch. On the end of this tube there will be an on/off valve. I refuse to run with the tank pressurized so after each use I'll open the hatch, open the valve, and whatever water is in the tank will shoot out the back.
I've got the pump mounted to the wall and I'm in the process of cleaning up the tank for paint. Cleaning the paint off the tank is tedious so it may take a few hours. I'll update pics as I get em.
Here's a pic of the pump given to me by my brother in law.

I have a setup like that with two hoses that run hidden from the tank in the back. One hose in the front and one in the back, both protected by the bumpers. It's a great tool to have, you'll love it

Well I got the tank sanded and primed but it was too dark for pics. I'll have some tomorrow.

Works like a charm! A little slow for an impact once the psi drops but my switch cuts it off at 115 psi then kicks back on at 85 psi! On to the pics!!!
