Default One HUGE downside to lifts

I now sit to high for stop light/ drive thru sensors to pick me up. I ran two redlights tonight because I sat there FOREVER. The third light was a turn signal and I sat thru it three times and was about to run it when someone pulled in behind me and it immediately turned green.

The mcdonalds by my work doesn't even bother anymore. They see me in the camera and send someone out to take my order.

x2 My old Yota was on 40s and I still went thru the drive thru, just had to lean down a bit at the window. Most of our lights use sensors in the pavement so height wouldn't matter just sucks if you're on a bike.

I thought the sensor was in the pavement. Isn't that why they saw cut the square shape into the asphalt behind the stop bar....? I swear the lights trip as soon as I hit that area.

Sensors are either in the road or on the light.

most lights have a sensor on the light itself, if it has the one like you are talking about, were you can flash your lights and it will let it know to change

most of the ones in knoxville are the ones in the ground that run off of inductance. When it detects a change in the current run through the wire it changes the light. There is a law in town that allows motorcycles to run turn signals because a lot of new bikes don't contain enough metal to change the current in the wire. I sit at 6.5" plus tires and it has to be the height change because this is a route I travel on regular basis and before this lift never had a problem with any of the lights or drive thrus.

we have one that works off the lights and it sucks. my 65 mustang never set it off nor my karmann ghia, i had to flash my high beams as i pulled up to get it to change. all the rest work off the weight of the vehicle so i am good
