Yup i am gonna get one of those plug in obd2 things and monitor my sensors and what my jeep is doing. I think i even have a leaky injector as well at times. May explain the doggy days it has and others being touchy and peppy. All in the matter of time and days off i get lol

If so, use a good injector cleaner to fix it. I've used Lucas injector cleaner with proven results for me for quite some time.
If you have one leaking from the seal.. you definitely want to fix that ASAP. fuel going onto a hot engine/bay isn't the safest thing in the world.

My current Jeep came with the Goodyears and I have said before I would not buy them new but they are not a bad tire. Goodyear does not make bad tires. Short of extreme rock crawling or deep mudding there is not much these tires won't do. 99% of off-roading is the driver first, and the vehicle second, with the tires a third place in what matters when it comes to making it or not making it.

I'm not saying all tires are equal. No sir! Far from it. I'm just saying these particular Goodyears are capable tires that have both good on-road and off-road performances. Note I said good, not best or great. It is a "good" tire. Just not the best.

I guess it depends on your definition of "bad." You seem to be a cheerleader hating this tire, for some reason. Probably because in the tire biz it has the lowest profit per tire. Bet I am right. Or because Wallymart sells it and it takes away from your sales? Just guessing here, I have no dog in this fight. But I do know I have been off-road with lots and lots and lots of different tires and it is usually the driver and the rig that matter more than the tire. And the reason more off-roaders don't feel the same way is because most people only buy the "popular tires" and nobody bashes the popular tires.

and profit margin isn't even a big deal at all too me. It's not my shop lol...I just like putting people in better, safer tires for their money that's all. Wal mart is probably the number 1 source of these tire. But people hate wal mart here, so we are probably the most popular shop on the area.
as far as your popular tire segment goes, your wrong their too. Do you know how popular the wrangler radial is? Super cheap so many unsuspecting people buy them. Guess what? It's probably the most bashed against tire I get complaints about haha. You know what other tires are popular? All the nitto and toyo truck tires. Their crap get bashed all the damn time because they just aren't good.
I hear and ask dozens of people on their tires everyday at work. I get a good fell and sense of what tires are actually worth what you pay. Based on all that, I say that even though the wrangler are cheap tires, they are still too expensive for what they are.
don't take me too serious man. I don't get worked up over small things. This is just a hobby I work with tires all day. Just a damn fun subject to talk about. I also like teaching people a bit while they wait for their vehicle. Even people that have no clue about tire take a vested interest. Kinda like I do with new subjects. Best part about my job though is that I can swap out tires on my vehicles every week of I wanted! Steep discounts+tons of tires=a he'll of a lot of fun
ps: i went back and found my post about my "some reason" list that I don't like the wrangler haha...post #89.
pss: this site needs a damn cheerleader emoji

like I said man a good tire can make a bad driver look good. A bad tire can make the best driver look bad....It's tough to be a capable driver off-road if you have no traction. See this all too often with my wheeling group...traction devices are part of a rig. tires and lockers being the most common. Throw a terrible driver in a bad *** rig and they look average. Throw them in the same rig, without just one traction aide, let's say going from top shelf tires to mediocre ones and they are terrible again haha....sadly, there are multiple dudes that fit this in my group. Iys funny and sad at the same time

i dont really look at tire specs tbh i wish we had more varieties of tires to choose from but again walmart where i do tires and oil changes. Mostly we do douglas all seasons,
Douglas Performance tires, Dextero DHT2 tires and then Goodyear viva 3s. Then onto online ordered tires are typically hankook tires, Kumho solus and then rarely if ever bfg rugged terrain tires. And VERY rarely general grabber stx tires. So im sure i dont have the vast knowledge some others have on tires i just do the work of putting them on and dealing with frauds who obviously hit a curb and blame the tire for it..... But i never really see any feedback on what customers say about them but then again no customers in the shop and we cant be talking to them as it wastes time apparently so basically i dont know much about tires only the barebone basics.

I think we are on the same page, we just look at it or describe it differently. If we are ONLY talking about off-road performance of tires, let's be honest, 99% of people that off-road don't even need four wheel drive, let alone lockers. Serious rock crawlers and mud pit sloshers aside, all other types of off-roading can be done with almost any tire. If you don't agree with that you haven't had enough experience off-roading.
if you're just getting into offroadimg, choosing a tire that just doesn't do well off pavement can really ruin the experience for a new person and they may not like it and not go back. Tires can make or break an experience if you are just getting into the game.
But it's funny. 9 out of 10 people rarely use their off road tires off-road. 90% is pavement.

Of course it can be done. But how adequate, effective, and efficient varies by tire. If you don't agree with that you haven't had enough experience off roading I'm just saying you can't discredit a good tire. Yes all tires may get the job done, but struggling when your trying to have fun is, well, no fun haha

I'm one that is building my XJ as a strong DD with some extras that will put a nice smile on my face when I do some light off-roading. But nothing so extreme that it ruins it as a DD. Hence not lifted and giant tires.... She does everything I personally want to do with 235s. And looks good IMHO. Little bigger than stock, but not crazy.

those are good points.... because not everyone either wants to or can honestly afford for one reason or another to have a second vehicle as a "weekend warrior" etc.

i rock 235s as well haha...and that's the thing with tires. You don't need expensive ones at all. There plenty of middle ground tires that mix price and performance really well. And thats the poiny i was trying to make. These wrangler or even the iron man's that I recommend over them at the same price range do not match bfgs or Coopers in performance. But there are great tires that mix price and quality out there.
