Is what why we own jeeps? lol And capitols..... sad thing was i have driven in a truck that had those and he isnt lying those were horrid tires. Might as well drive in a big giant army truck on black ice because those ones roared so loudly your ears were ringing after a drive on the highway

^^ lol... I rest my case. It always took me drawing on my many years of nasty winter weather driving experience to keep it between the ditches with those shoes. No grip of any kind. It was like you were always driving on solid ice.

Nothing like a POS tire that you hate but lasts forever because the tread compound is so hard.

Lol, That's the point of the day, when it comes to tires you can't always have your cake and eat it too. More of one robs from the other, no way to cure that reality even though that's what everyone expects to get.

There's no doubt that all tire designs are trade-offs and none are perfect for everything but, from the descriptions here of the capitols, it sounds like that design went straight off the tracks. I personally hate buying new tires because of the research I put myself through, and the expense, but if I were to own these I would gladly do it.

They are a hard tire for sure. And sometimes off road this can be a great advantage. But unfortunately what I found is that they are so hard rocks like to knock chunks out of the tread.

Amen to that.... If I hadn't had to sell it to move overseas.... I was going to 86 those POS's.

^^ well fortunately in my case... they were so crappy on everything else that I never got to the point of any serious offroading with them.

lil' update.... I can report that on these supposed POS Wranglers.. I've been through every kind of weather and road except for super sloppy mud now..... and so far not one handling issue.
Weird... was half expecting them to be worthless in snow and ice. And so far, I can't complain.

I put on four new Wrangler radials 235-75-15s on my XJ in November. They are okay, but barely. They tend to slide on black ice when my old Coopers wouldn't do that. I wish I'd stuck with Coopers but local tire dealer had a special going on the Goodyears. Total incl sales tax was o/a $400.

Extra for road hazard warranty and new valve stems I'll bet.

Most shops charges separately for all that stuff, I always threw it all in as long as the manufacturer had my butt covered on the warranty. lol

And stems and weights are a tax write off. Personally I think it is a little too greedy to charge extra for these. They do it because they can be deceptive about the cost of the tires verses the actual total mounted after adding extra. It's bad business in my book. Advertised tire prices used to include the tire, mounting, balancing and a new stem before the tax.

Now the advertised tire price only includes the tire, not everything else that it should include for that displayed price. Everyone has let them get away with this deceptive change in the industry when they should have stuck to their guns and held them to the old way, the more honest way.
