Default Over 3.5 inch with 2wd?

I know you know you need an SYE for the T case if you got to 4.5 inchs of lift on a cherokee, but i have 2wd. Does this mean i dont need one, or can i just not go over 3.5 inches. If i can id like to go 5 inches, but a detroite locker in the back and 32's.

Not sure about 5 inches on a two wheel drive jeep, but you shouldn't have to much of a problem with the drive shaft being at to much of an angle. I don't know about the length though, you may need to get a longer shaft.

I will convert to 4x4 in the future, this is to just get me through high school. Just wanted to see if it could be done.

Almost anything can be done with enough time and money.

LOL must be a hell of a story behind that

from what i've read it depends on the jeep, some people dont need one until 6 inches, some need it at 3", guess it all depends on the jeep.

i went 4.5" on my 2wd, everything went smooth, i'm just saving the t-case drop for when i do the 4x4 conversion. drives smooth at fast speeds but i get DW when i hit bumps and potholes at fast speeds

Go for it. Im interested at this as well. You might want to get shims for the rear leafs to help relieve the angle ever so slightly. The driveshaft might need to be lengthened. But i doubt it. Try it and find out
