Depending on what you want considering the 2wd, but if everything else on it is good id say it's more than fair. All of them even with rotted rockers are 3k or more here.

Been busy driving it As soon as I mod the top brackets I'll install the pins in the bash plate as described in the instructions. I'll post up the mods, and although I'm happy with Rusty's products in general, I'm a bit bummed I have to make simple mods to a $120 SWD just to make it work correctly.

10 years from now its going to be very rare to see an XJ on Craigslist going for cheap. At the rate of how many XJs I see on the junkyard I don't think there will be many left. I do believe at one point or another in the future alot of these XJ will be worth gold.

Isn't that the truth. Hell even now it's getting tough to find clean unmolested ones. Most I see on Craigslist around me are butchered ones that's kids beat the hell out of.

If I had to I'd pay 5-6k for a real clean one. I alwYs try to start out with the cleanest example of whatever it is I want to by to start with. In the end you are time and money ahead that way. But I don't kill my jeep either. It's more just a family trail rig that I also have to use God work in crappy weather. If I was just building a beater the. It could be a little more rough. Still want the least rust I can find. And no structural rust.

I think you can find em decently clean for a decent price if you hold out. I kept seeing a bunch that literally only needed a crank sensor, low miles, very clean for 2k and under, just didn't have the money then. Got my first 2000 black xj about a year ago for 2300. 143k on it, had some bubbling paint but nothing not fixable. Found out that the windshield wasn't sealed properly and for who knows how long water had been draining in behind the trim and pooling on the floorboards didn't trust it then so I parted with it 2 months ago. Drove my neighbors granny olds 88 for a few weeks looking for the right deal. Picked up my current girl for 1700. One of the cleanest jeeps underneath I've ever seen. Only paint stain "rust" on rockers which I sanded down and repainted the next day. Had a gas leak which ended up being a fuel pump, needed a power steering hose. Replaced the drag link as well, but ****, I think I did good for 1700. 9000lb smittybilt winch, 4.5 in rc lift, super 44 MagnaFlow. Rides like a dump truck, the exhaust hits the crossmember but I love the **** outta it.
