Photo Help
I appologize if this is the wrong section for this, I am a new member and have not used a site like this before. I am trying to upload some photo's but every time I try it fails. I know the photo's are too large but I do not know how to resize them. If anyone can give me some advise on how to do this I would appreciate it.

Try and sign up for PhotoBucket. Its free and easy. All you have to do is upload them there and copy and paste the link here or any other forum. If you need help, pm me and I'll see what I can do.
Good luck!

if you have microsoft office (07+ for sure maybe 03 as well) there is Picture Manager that is easy to use you can adjust the size of the picture by % or pixles and then save it or save as a copy. Good rule of thumb is that 640x480 is as big as you want to go with for internet photos. Hope this helps

If you choose to download it (free) PM me & I'll explain how to resize if you don't figure it out yourself (under the "Image" tab). Percentage is better so you maintain the aspect ratio. I have found that with an 8mp camera, 25 to 30% is enough for a decent sized forum pic.

Ok, I know that the problem is with me and my lack of computer knowledge, but couldn't they have made this a little more user friendly? I have a photo bucket account and have re-sized the pics to 680x420 and they still won't load. I just get a box with a red "x" in the middle of it. Like I said, I know this is my fault but it is still very frustrating. I have tried to copy and paste all 4 options that photo bucket gives me under each image and I get the same result with each

As was mentioned earlier, if you're using Microsoft you should be able to right-click on the file and open with Office Picture Manager.
Once open, go to Edit Picture and re-size. One of the re-size options is actually for web pages and will re-size it appropriately.
If you go that route, do a "save as" when closing and save it as a new file or you will permenantly change your original pic.
You can then upload it into your CF album and post it from there.
I am new, have less than 10 posts and can post pictures on CF so that's not the issue.

use any photo software that came on your computer, to resize them. If not I believe Microsoft has free photo software. If you have a printer that to should of came with something.

I have re-sized the images to 640x480 and I still can't get them to upload, But the first 2 pics I managed to get on here are full size 8 and 12 mega pixel images! I will keep playing with it and hopefully get it to work, because as everyone points out
