Supposed to get down to the mid 30s today. Still raining for the 5th day in a row. Its rare to get this much rain out here.

I just have to throw this in here and brag on the Cherokee. It sat outside as the temperature plummeted to -30F Tuesday night, only rose to -18 Wednesday, then back down to -35 Wednesday night. So after sitting outside in the polar vortex for almost 3 days without running, it started up Thursday morning when the temperature was -17!

My coolant went partial slushy in the overflow tank. I've been cycling my block heater to help

A few weeks ago we had -60 windchill over night. Had to get to a dentist appt that morning and opted to take the '16 Mazda CX5 to take it easy on the XJ. The Mazda just clicked so I left it alone. Tried to start the "15 Cummins that had been plugged in all night. It cranked over super slow a few times even after the plugs cycled, sputtered, and then clicked. Plan C time haha. Hopped in the XJ and turned the key and after some struggling for about 10 seconds it fired up. Died once, but started right back up after that. I'll link the video of it starting below. Yes I know it's a little rusty but it's my first car and it's now on it's third year of service to me and it hasn't let me down so far.

DJX, what was the actual temp? Does your XJ ever hesitate at startup like that in normal temps?

I believe the actual temp was around -30 or lower. In normal temps it starts up without issue. No hesitation, never dies afterwards, nothing like that. It was so cold that morning that my seat was basically solid which I didn't even know was possible.
