Default Popping sound from driver window ( video inside)

Hey I got a 97 4 door xj. The driver window started making a popping sound when I held the switch longer than I'm supposed to when it's all the way up or down. I replaced the widow motor but its the same problem. What could it be? Here's a link to the video on YouTube.

My 2000 does the same thing. I'm assuming it's the regulator, and will replace it at some point. Currently I just don't put the window up to the point of making the noise. Are the regulator and motors one assembly on the XJs?
