What do you guys think about the "old" vs "new style debate? 84-96 vs 97-01? I know parts tend to be cheaper for the older Cherokees, but I'm fond of the "standard" dodge/Chrysler interior in the newer xj's

89 Laredo interiors are the nicest IMO. You just can't beat the seats... My dad has a 96 and I've got a buddy with a 98, neither are close.

I have an 88 so of coarse I'm a bit biased but I do like the newer models. When I change my passenger side engine mount I will probably be wishing I had a newer model.
