Ha. Thanks, but I submit my original factory transmission mount as proof of age.

I bought it about 18 months ago with 49k miles on the clock. Muhahah.

Beautiful XJ. It's rare to come across one that nice, even for us southern boys. You have a gem take care of it.

Thanks guys.

I did buy it to drive it, so I put about 80miles/day on it. But other than asking a lot of miles from it, I do baby it. I want it to last as long as possible, and have refreshed nearly the entire undercarriage. The upper control arms and rear axle bearings are about the only things I have not gotten to yet. I finally have it "dialed in" and it drives great, and I look forward to driving it every single day. I do the work myself, and rarely let shops touch it (even some of my more trusted shops have proven that they are a bit clueless about older non-chrysler Jeeps). Its also my kayak fishing rig, so I have built a custom rod and paddle rack inside that can hold 4 rods and a kayak paddle (2-piece type), while still having passengers in all of the seats. In 20k miles since I bought it, the only actual "must fix" items have been a water pump starting to make noise and a front inner axle seal (which probably resulted from the numerous times I've had the axles in and out).

Even if the body should rot out from underneath me, I'll just switch directions, add some armor, paint with bed liner, and lift it a bit more to add a few more years of fun to it.

Spent my afternoon checking out this thread. I've got to say, I am extremly jealous of all the sick XJs I've been seeing. I figured I'd drop a few of my favorites!
