I agree with everyone that the price is on the high side, but I've been watching cherokee sales and prices here in central PA for almost a year now and I see ones all the time with all kinds of problems and really beat up exteriors go from 5500 to 6500. Don't know what it is around here, hardly any bone stock jeeps sold and the ones that are stock are all kinds of beat up. Thanks everyone for the input guys, but since this is the first cherocar that's come my way that I actually want to buy, I'm gonna go for it.

A lot of the older cars have gone up in price over the past few years. For one, a lower percentage of the population can afford a new one so there is more demand and for two, cash for clunkers took a lot of them out also = more demand. I cant believe what 10-15 year old Subarus go for here.... lol. It looks really clean man!

You can buy one over here thats completely tricked out and way nice and clean for that kind of money. Maybe look into buying one and having it shipped? I would sell my 2000 sport with an IRO 5.5 long arm, lockers front and back, brand new 35's, and 4:56 gears for $7K, and its only got 135k miles, not that its for sale though!

You can find better deals. Here is a 2000 for $1720 in great shape with 142K on it in the Indianapolis Craigslist.

It just popped up on Craigslist. I wrote a program to alert me when anything pops up so I can look at it right away. I am not interested in buying one right now but I watch anyway. I normally look for parts.

I paid 3 for mine with 98k (now has 135,xxx) with all receipts and logs. Perfect shape in and out. Considering I got it from the saltiest place around (ohio) it was nearly spotless except for a place behind the rear bumper caps. Craigslist is awesome.

A month ago I saw a good looking 1999 on craigslist. Then I went to check it out and I find out it had been in an accident and the unibody was tweaked lol

Guessing it's 2wd (only because not 4x4 badges) Still would be a good price.

I paid 3600 for mine a month ago with 140,000 miles. Overall it wasn't beat up, Rust free, tow package w/ 8.25 rear, nice interior (considering it's 15 years old). I bought it to wheel so I didn't need a show car, but wanted something that looked good.

Yep, it's insane. People want $1500 for running xjs with gaping rust holes aka "typical cherokee rust" on the CL. It's hard to find anything decent and when you do it's usually over $5k.
