The mods have enough to keep them busy as it is, and they aren't paid for their time. Asking them to do even more babysitting isn't fair to them.

And think about this.
What's to prevent a vendor from artificially inflating his own reputation by creating more than one account and posting random glowing reports about his own business....or bad-mouthing someone else's? Think it can't happen? Think again. Ask any forum owner/operator on the WWW and you'll be amazed at just how often it does. Heck, we've had people on this very forum create multiple accounts to pad their votes for the CotM. How about the guy who claimed to be the friend of a member here that got blown off an antenna tower in Oregon and was killed? I know some of the mods remember that fiasco...

How do you prevent forum members from bashing or praising a vendor that they've never done business with?

Do you modify the rules so that any and all reviewers must post under their real name and provide a copy of an invoice to prove that they are a legitimate customer?

So although a good idea, the implementation and fair administration is going to be difficult, if not impossible.

Pretty creative right? It's a locked subforum just like the write-ups section here, reviews just need to be submitted to a mod or posted in the regular forums, then moved. I don't think they have any kind of specific rules or format for the reviews.

I'm sure I'll offend some people here with this, but the Cherokeeforum compared to ZX-10R.net is FILLED with hot-headed A-holes and keyboard tough guys. The flaming, disrespect and general jerk-level here is just ridiculous in comparison. Not to say there aren't plenty of great members and useful info here, just seems like a way different ratio. Maybe it's because not everyone here gets to experience the amazing feeling that is life on two wheels (sometimes one )?

I have also thought about suggesting a similar section for reviews, but honestly, SeriousOffroad is right, I don't think this forum and the mods could handle it.

frank makes some great points in his post, but themallamo makes a great point, that if this section was created it should be a locked section where you must submit a review to a mod and then if it is worthy they can move it to the new section otherwise all its doing is causing more work for the mods. like themallamo said there are alot of hot heads and tough guy typers on this forum that can take away from all the great members on the forum. the only way i see it working is if its a locked section that reviews must be submitted for before being posted.

FWIW,
Customers can post reviews for the products they've purchased on my site. The only editing is for really bad spelling errors....I'm funny like that.

I think a good idea would be right under vendor showcase and it would be called vendor feedback, each vendor on here could have there own section. No adding 2 are 3 threads they would each get one can't delete edit are anything there own section cause good bad are crazy feedback is feedback. To know how great y'all products are people need a section to beable to do that so y'all can praise y'all products while people that are useing them can also have a place to praise them at too, I know when I go to the vendor showcase its kinda crazy each vendor has 20 different posting, it's like a war of who can post something so there thread will be on first page. It takes a while to go threw them and each vendor can just open there thread up by posting there website, quick easy to scroll there. Like if I wanna go search for y'all scroll down alphabetically and see y'all if I wanna go see what people say about jcr offroad I scroll down to jcr and every post is watched and regulated while no one can edit it except for mods. I mean yea it's a lot of work but at the same time it would be nice to have. Quick easy searching good reviews can make a company more profitable, the people who test stuff out and buy products should have a say so even if it's bad, becouse vendors can learn from it and take it as a maybe next time lets do this. I'm a guy that like to buy off the vendor section and I totally understand if something that's longer than expected but good reviews will keep costermers happy cause companies will want good reviews and at the same time it can make products nicer stronger whatever, and businesses more profit. But I'm not staying up forever and righting stuff all night so that's just my 2 cents

Each person could have to post pics under there review of them with the parts are there comment will not be allowed to be posted and also companies can start sending a thing with the receipts are packages about how to review there product via cherokeeforum.com/ vendor review/ whatever vendor. All I'm saying is good reviews cause more business and what company doesn't like more business??
