Default quick speaker question

I'm looking move my speakers out of the doors to the stock location in the dash. Can I just splice the wires and put new connectors and do it that way. Also could I get away with putting some crappy speakers in my doors or would I need an amp?

I didn't know they ever mounted speakers in the the dash. Except the tweeters used on the factory premium stereo pkg.

I put them in the dash and nothing is holding them on except the force of the dash, they sound great when the doors are off and now I have 4 speakers with doors on.

my speakers are ovals trhey were from the back area of my old civic and wouldnt fit in any of the places you guys used because they were too big so i put them in the backseat area to the sides where the cup holders are. just screwed 2 screws into 2 corners and it holds good enough. once i go to the junkyard and get a headliner i think i might make a sound bar but check out my build thread for pics of the location i used.

I came really close to doing this. I still might when I get a good dremel. I couldn't cut a nice hole with the tools that I have.

Nice ideas! I want to mount some speakers in the dash as well for when I go doorless. I'm just worried about them being too visible and getting stolen.. On another note, what are some nice quality, cheap speakers?

Sony's are trash I mean if you just like to hear loud noise go for Sony's but if you value sound quality at least get some Kickers and they are pretty affordable if you bargain hunt for em.

I'm 17 that's why lol. Once I'm older I will upgrade to better sound and suspension, but being 17 I just don't care.
