The thing is not everyone is wheeling the same terrain, so what works for your situation might not work to others advantages. In the area I live in we have woods with lots and lots and lots and lots of mean branches reaching into and over the trail. I've gotten smacked in the face by branches quiet a few times with my windows down and I can tell you there is no way in hell I'd drive doorless down our trails. It has nothing to do with who loves nature more, who's the biggest Jeeper of them all, who's from the city or country... nothing.

We actually have the same kinda trails here, tons of overhanging trees and branches and I've been hit in the face and cut many times as well. Sure It's not as bad whit doors on. I was just trying to explain why people do it and what the benefits are.

Yep, there are some benefits. I just see a lot of people doing mods without making sure it's going to work for them. I don't think when it comes to equipment that trend should surpass function... and on that note, I just don't think questioning ones love of nature, Jeep prowess, or locale helps others to make the correct choice for them. So, I just wanted to point out that for some applications running doorless might not work in their favor.

My front doors are fully detachable, and tube doors for the summer/spring.. Only complaint I have is the wiring issues having fully powered windows, locks and door speakers.. I also would never take my rear doors off for the fact it would really serve no purpose except for looks. I live in north Georgia and there's tress everywhere, question is how much are you into trail riding? Reason I did it was for trail visibility and Beeing able to just lean out and see where exactly my tires are and what's going on. Safety factor going down the road with no doors at all isn't really to smart but it's your jeep, and your life! Hope it helped.

Agreed if we had heavily wooded areas here I would put the doors back on before hitting certain trails, just like I do for mud runs. As for rocks, I think my avatar says it all!

I skimmed through the previous comments, so someone has probably mentioned what im about to say. But I just take my doors off when I go on a weekend trail run or if I have a week of sunny weather. I remove the front lower left and front lower right plastic panels. On the left side are a few master plugs that disconnect pretty easy. The passenger side has a few plugs that require a long flat-head to reach. And for the rear door wires, i just cut them and put some of those small single wire disconnects. They are easy to match up the colors. You have to remove the boots though. And when you do, it makes air noise when you drive down the road. Unless you think of a way to mess with them. Sounds like an ordeal, but it takes about 5-10 mins to remove the doors AND another 5-10mins to install.

ive done this on my jeep, get the wireing harness from a grand cherokee driverside front door, its a 14 wire hareness make sure you get both ends, i wired it up so that when i open the door the quick disconnect plug is right in the door jamb,. open the door, pull the plug. and lift off door, easy peasy

if you do it DONT CUT THE HINGE!!!!! cut the pin. i cut the hinge. huge mistake. its now january and i still cant get my door back on (july) if you cut the pin and bang it out then you can just drop a bolt back through the hole without having to worry about the bolts on the hinges.

There's a reason I didn't buy a Wrangler - aside from the fact they're ugly as heck.
Deep down you know you like wranglers, just a little, all of us do.

Doorless feels pretty damn good when you got no working AC.....

Either way its everyones opinion I honestly dont care what people think. I personally love driving doorless as my AC sucks. All my friends love to ride in it. Its also not just an XJ thing, coming from a bronco background a lot of the rockcrawler guys and first gen bronco guys drive doorless. BTW I had a wrangler and would buy another for cheap in a heartbeat.

To the OP: I suggest you use some trailer connectors. They should come in different configs that allow you enough wires on the connector.
