Requested Jeep Build states 8.25 Axle, Tag on Differential stated Dana 35???
I requested a Build Sheet from Jeep...
The reason I'd done so was for my rear axle.
The build sheet states the following.
DMDP 3.55 Rear Axle Ratio
DRAS Corporate 8.25 Rear Axle
When changing my differential fluids recently, the metal tag on the cover stated Dana 35. I am hoping it is indeed the 8.25
Do you think the build sheet is incorrect? It sure seems so.
Is it possible they put the wrong tag on there.
There was another tag on the cover, only it was impossible to read.
Do they usually put on two tags?
What do I really have (besides confusion )

Help to id the rear end https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/axle-info-148057/
It could be they blew the rear end and just grabbed a junkyard one maybe.

If I remember, it was less round like the 8.25 which I'm listed as having (that's all that really matters). If that's true, I'm really baffled on the D35 tag.
I'll compare them tomorrow

I printed out that page of differentials and gave one to my son and several other people, in fact I just printed out some more I had ran out.
There is a vast knowledge pool here and even an old man like me drink from it daily as I was a "babe in the woods" when it came to Jeeps.

My build sheet says 8.25 as well but my jeep is also celebrating its 21st birthday this month so definitely no guarantees that what's actually there is original.

Is it an "eight two five" an "eight point two five" or is it an "eight and a quarter". What do I call it when I speak "it's" name?
