Rethinking lifting my XJ
I've finally gathered the funds to lift my XJ but am thinking if it is really necessary. If I just replace the rear leafs it will probably sit better and maybe spend the money on decent AT tyres rather than roads.
What do you guys think

Guess it depends on what you're planning to do with it. Most of our toys (Harleys, Dirt Bikes, Corvettes, etc...) aren't really NECESSARY... but damn we wouldn't give them up for nothin'...

This is when I bought it in Jan:
This is just a little after:
and this is kind of what I'm after
It's a rough country 3 inch with 31 BFG's.
The lift is more for cosmetics but I think if it were more capable off road I might do a little more with it, tried it once and got stuck in a field for feks sake (although the rear leaf's do NEED replacing - thinking is might as well just do a lift for a little more)
Best kit I can find in my price range £500 - about $830 is the rough country 3. You guys across the pond have so many more choices.

actually my leaf springs are shot too, bad axle wrap. And the PO put some passenger card tires on it that just plain suck. I checked into replacing springs and it's not gonna cost me much more to just put a 3" lift on it and 31's, and it should be a whole lot more capable as I do plan to take it offroad as much as possible, while still maintaining it as a daily driver. I'm looking at the Rough Country Series II lift though, mostly because it replaces the lower control arms as well, and comes with the better shocks.

i can but the cost is too much !!
I'm looking at £500 for a rough country 3 lift and about £180 labour, either that or £170 for new rear and £90 labour
If I get the 3inch lift will I need to adjust the drivetrain (think you will know what I mean)

its a part you buy most lifts come with them in it,or you can add it in when you order it.What it does is drop you TC to correct drive line angles to eliminate vibrations
