I have done at least 10 jeeps like this it works well and when done correctly will help stiffen the chassis

Good god, your Jeep is as filthy as mine is right now.

And that's how it should be!

So this reminds me that I actually have a set of manufactured rock sliders I haven't installed yet. I got a good price on them unpainted and once I got them all pretty I lost steam and they never went on.

Could I modify those or should I just sell them for a profit and buy some box steel to do a custom set?

This is what I posted awhile ago in my build thread:

Check these bad boys out. A good friend of mine bartered with me for electrical work and he fabbed these up for me. They are 2x6 tube that he capped and tapered to fit the wheel well.

He cut out the rockers and welded them in, then added the supports to the frame rails.

I am tickled pink with them. They stiffen it up a lot and are very solid.

I took it home and started notching my flares from http://www.napierprecisionproducts.com/

Got them to fit pretty easily.

I then seam sealed the braces where they contact the floor and sprayed it with undercoat on the bottom. I taped off the very edge of the 2x6 and painted the rest with 2 coats of black primer, then 2 coats of semi-gloss.

Will, right?

How to heck are ya? I guess you'll just have to start saving some coin, huh?

He does real clean work, it's definitely worth it.

yea its me, doing well. I'll start saving coin and its on the list, but not the tip top. Its due for inspection this month so i have to do that whole list first. And its becomming the dd for the winter as the car wont make it up the driveway after snow so probably gears first. 3.55's are giving me the best around town.

I've been very impressed with everything he's done. Its seems like something i could do, but it wouldn't look nearly that nice so i'm going to agree that its worth it. Just have to find out what "it" is and start saving

So I have some 2"x6"x3/16" I'm going to be slapping in there, well I've been researching and seen many different way's, means and methods. Well I saw where somebody manufacturers these

Well a light went off in my head. How do you guys think it would work if I put bent 10-12ga sheet in there the length of the rocker, from the 2x6 to the unibody, as opposed to the 3 stand offs.

I/m no engineer but I would think that being spread out over the length n would be just as strong if not stronger than 3 standoffs.

Someone must have some input/experience??? ktm??
