I will say to anyone who tries to get your dimension right I made a a jig from 2x4's and some 3" nails. So I could make sure the rack was the same distance side to side and front to back before i tighened the couplers down.

I thought about making a full size jig from 2x4's and would could really make more easilly.

Rack looks awesome!! My dad is an electrician so I asked him to order some emt and rigid so I can build my own. Yours looks awesome though. Is that with the Rust Oleum bed liner? May have missed it while reading if it is.

You should just weld it! It will be much stronger.
You can cut everything to size and find a friend with a welder and pay them a few bucks for electricity and wire and your set.

Once all the pieces come together. It is extremly strong. You shouldn't need it any stronger than it would be with the scews

I will say I used the screw couplers but once its all together I will most likely weld them in place but the couplers give you a bit of wiggle room on your cuts to square everything up.

It's better to be Really strong than not strong enough!
It all depends on what you plan to carry up theie.
When i make mine i plan to have a spare tire up their and whatever else i might want to carry!
I want to Know for a fact that my rack will carry whatever i put up their.
No matter what you guys say a roof rack that is made with screws will never be Really strong. It's going to squeak. The joints are going to be weak when under a heavy load. It's not going to look very clean.

Thats why im using rivets to hold everything until its complete then I will weld critical points. Then again there are better option then 1/2" EMT if you really plan on loading it down....

That actually sounds like a good plan.
I do understand some people do not have a welder and its a pain to take it all to a friends to do it but in the end it's worth it.
