Nearly the same thing happened to my moms '93 zj except it was a Honda that ran a stop sign. But it wasn't quite as bad as yours and we bought it back from the insurance co. and fixed it up with an arb bumper.

the guys in the camry were both cut with flying glass... the gold jeep took one glance from the appraiser and he said "nope"
There was some crumple zone damage.
They were going about 50mph I'm guessing, so I spun and I think their speed did a lot of damage...I wasn't going more than about 20 since I had just pulled out into the intersection from a dead stop waiting for the green.
The thing that sucks is that I lost my deductable...there were two other cars waiting at the light with me, and they both just took off after the accident---after I saved them from getting tboned maybe.
But since it was downtown Oakland...they probably had guns, dope, or warrants.
