Default Rustys add a leaf kit

Can anyone tell me about Rustys add a leaf lift kit?

Ride quality.
Tire clearance.
Trail performance.
Instalation difficulty.
Any modification I may need.
And anything else I need to know

I am looking to install it on my 91 and I am pretty big on ride quality don't want the lift to ruin it, but I still want it to handle good on the trail.

I am not sure which kit you are refering too, however, having an add-a-leaf in the rear of mine did make for a stiffer daily ride. But not annoying. The again, PA has some of the worst roads in the US, so it may be just my area....LOL

It is on Rustysoffroad.com it is a 3" add a leaf kit, and roads in TX are not so great either haha

Okay, i see the kit. Basically the same thing as the rough country 3" kit and others.... It is a simple install, though you may break factory bolts when you remove them. The tire clearence would be safe at 31x10.5.... and as for ride quality, ANY lift is going to change that feel. A single added leaf in the rear will make it stiffer, but again, not so it is annoying...

As for off-road handling, you will need to ask others... mine has yet to see a trail... LOL

I won't be trail ridding a lot maybe once month, and i don't know I was think I would just got with 30s cheaper and I don't wana take a chance of 31s rubbing. The fact that my brothers rubs with 31s on a 3"

But Rustys says it will clear 31s

My kit says it would only clear 32's, (the RC 4.5" lift) and I have 33's under there that only rub when they are stuffed in their wells. On the road, NO issues....

Every vehicle is different, driving styles are different, and even manufacterers same rated tire sizes vary.... so yeah, you would be safer with 30's, but who knows, you could clear 32's! LMAO

Well, with that being the case, let me just mention that with shipping, the RC 3" lift is about 17 dollars cheaper then the Rusty's.... I look for little deals like that myself, so i thought I would point it out.... LOL....

An in addition to my previous comment, if you buy the lift from a dealer locally, instead of online, you do not have to pay shipping, and still the lift is a little cheaper... LOL....

Im driving stock height with 30" mudders and they only rub when when I have the wheel turned all the way. I want to go with the add-a-leaf lift too cause im on a budget

But ive heard if your leafs are saggy or getting to be saggy the add-a-leaf wont last long.

Better is a relative term.... But they are simpler... and if you use it off-road, will allow more movement for the rear end too.
