I wouldn't touch that jeep for 5k. And are you sure the odometer runs while it's being pulled behind an rv? Could have twice as many miles as it says. Also if they didn't know how to pull it they could've really screwed it up. I got my jeep for a little more than that 3 years ago. 109k absolutely zero rust southern jeep, stock, remote start, 8.25 axle, good paint, good body lines and gaps, grey interior, clean interior and exterior. Maybe one or two door dings, no scuffs on the bumpers or anything like that. Oh and there big difference no salvage title with questionable repair work. I think everyone is telling you to go for something else but you're too stubborn to take the opinions you asked for. You're dead set and don't seem to be listening but your money to waste not mine so go for what your heart says.

Yeah I am being a bit stubborn. I do hear what you're all saying. Its hard to balance, mechanically its in great shape, it doesn't slip, shifts fine and has tons of grunt and a prominent "semi" roar to it, that's what I call it ha. Engine was quiet, just some quiet rocker ticking here and there. Temp was good, oil pressure was average. I observed NO rattles or squeaks in my test drive and I did drive this jeep about 5 gallons worth of gas, shocks are firm, rotors might be warped a bit, but brakes good other wise. It did not wander for the 7-10 seconds I let off the wheel, even with a slight acceleration. Cosmetics are of question, but if it wasn't serious I dont mind some small projects... gonna see about dropping the price though no doubt.

I dont think the hood gap implies a bent frame at all honestly, which is why I checked other body gaps. Usually when a frame is bent its NOT always going to where it got hit necessarily, it can send the force to any part of the nearby frame. Putting a hood on from a different XJ and a refabed fender right next to it, I'm guessing it won't be perfect, but I wouldn't go as far to say the hood implies frame damage. My current XJs hood doesnt line up level with the clip in the middle, but it has a clean title.

Well, maybe I'll just look for a whole different make and model. I thought shopping for a car thats almost 20 years old would be a little more fun and inviting but this little "rebuild" title thing sure is overblown for a car that old. THATS my point. They're all totaled if they have an accident, they're not even worth that much anymore. At the end of the day I've got half of you telling me its not a biggie and to just be cautious /lower the price etc. And then the other half of you are so against it you're criticizing me personally, almost forcing me to pick a Cherokee with colors or options I don't like and even threatening to ban me if I buy this one, uh thanks? good lord. I'll show the dealer this whole thread though if I need. I think from this point I'm just going to shop with my own input and a few people I can have look at my other finds in person. Thanks.

Hmm, well I just got a call that all the door locks were replaced and the electrics were fixed, so I'm going to look at it again Saturday, act desperate and broke and see if we can become friends, ey? Lol. But seriously, if he's trying to make things right I might at least work with him on this.

You asked for opinions about it. We gave them to you. Every thing I own has a clean title. I refuse to own a dirty title vehicle ever again.
I'm willing to bet that car lot has a bit here/pay here sign. First red flag.
You want it so bad? Ignore us. Go over pay. Drive it home. Enjoy it, then regret it. It's your choice in the end.

No, the Jeep was stolen, so they replaced the ignition and drivers door with parts laying around, but I was complaining about having three keys so he went to the Jeep dealership and made all the locks the same. This is part of the issue I don't think everyone is reading all the details. I don't think half of you even know its a private dealership, not a private sale.
