I wonder if the military would take this crap seriously and sting the scammer since she is posing and playing upon military service.
Doubtful they'd have the resources available to devote to it... These people are Internet ghosts, and besides that, person to person sales transactions are a civil matter for civilian law enforcement agencies. If someone on a base was scammed by someone claiming to be in the service it might be looked into by MP, but I'm no expert. My dad might know, he was with the PD for thirty years in an army town.

Bottom line is buyer beware in all situations. Do your homework, be smart and if anything looks, feels or sounds fishy, walk away. People lose much more than a few hundred or thousand dollars in craigslist deals where a little due diligence might have saved their lives.

The chick I bought my wagoneer from was all over it... Had me meet her in a busy Starbucks to conduct business and she brought a friend... Smart girl, someone did something right.

Personally I use craigslist all the time to buy, sell, and trade. What I do is: bring a friend, never give my address always meet at a gas station or busy store, and always pay attention.
