For the 8 months I have had them they have been awesome. Especially off road.

Ive had mine for about 2 1/2 years... and its time for a new set. Not a very road friendly tire, especially if you dont rotate them religiously.

They're amazing offroad, grip like crazy on everything. But mine have only lasted 20k, and thats from new to slicks.. Better keep those things rotated, and i recommend some dynabeads if your gonna drive your jeep as a DD

OH, yea I agree. But I went into them only expecting 15,000 miles. So I am very happy. And I just rotated them yesterday, which was a couple thousand miles short but at least they are rotated now.

I wanted a solid off road tires (more agressive than km2 or the normal tires) And for the money you can't beat them. I paid 650 mounted and balanced.

I still can't understand why anyone would pay money for a tire knowing they're going to last 1/4 the length of a different tire.

Tires are 235/85/r16. 32" tall by 8" tread width. They are federal couragia mt's. 10ply.
Stock backspacing is 5.25", not 4.5". That's why stock rims will make 31's or bigger rub your lower control arms at full turn. You need 4.5" or less not to rub.

I have had the mtr's and my friend runs the km2. Its all about the performance. The federals just plain out perform them.

Swamper are great in mud, and people use them a lot. But they suck on slick trails. And the federals still pull better lines in the rocks or slick trails.

I come out of racing and dual sporting where you get 5000 miles out of a set of tires. S0 20,000 is just fine with me.

Besides the 650 dollar price tag can't be beat. Can almost by two sets compared to km2's.

Some guys get 25-30000 out of them. I bought the skinny ones so I expect less. But I have almost 10,000 on them now and they look great. Not even half worn.

Hmm, well I measured my stock jeep rims and the rims I currently have are the exact same back spacing. I thought I remembered 4.5" Anyways the ones I have are the same as stock.

And.......my 32's were rubbing the lca's but after I put the springs on last night, and moved the axle forward no more rubbing!!! Was kind of excited about that.

for me, flex was only a plus to getting long arms. For me the real reason was having a better onroad ride, a more rugged system, being able to clear my tires better at full turn, and knowing that In the future, I can still use them on a larger or smaller lift(or whatever I might want to do). and I agree with lowrange on the basis of once you get body damage, you have nothing to lose so might as well go for it. with all this said, KTM still prolly hates my jeep cuzz I have IRO longarms. but I like them so Idc.

I managed to get a set of 5 35" km2s for $815 to my door. I got lucky with finding the right sale and rebates all at the same time though. With a pair of lockers there wasn't much of an obstacle I couldnt make due to lack of traction. got 55k miles out of them and 2 still have usable tread.

"more rugged" can certainly be argued about the iro longarm setup, but lets leave that outta this thread.

but if it works for you, it works for you.

i think that's right.. usually stock jeep wheels have 5-5.5 bs..

holycaveman, what control arms do you have? lowers? uppers? i didn't see what you have.

i have the ironman lowers... they look tiny, but they are solid, and i gained a bunch of clearance. i like running stock wheels, so those arms are a huge plus for me.

Stock and stock. They seem to be fine. IF I go long arms eventually then I will change them.

That is a great price. And I love the look of that tire. I run some very slick trails where there is a layer of about 2in of mud. The km2 require a ton of wheel speed to clean out compared to the federals. And the swampers are like slicks in that stuff.

This is the main reason for the tire. I run quad and bike trails a lot and its always slimy and or loamy. Hills are always a challenge and usually layered in grass or leaves.

If I were hitting actual 4x4 trails that are hard pack or rocks then it would not matter so much.

And if I can get through a section without spinning a tire then I am happy. Tread lightly
