93 xj 2??,??? miles, missing a seat, wont start. I guess he was driving it and it just quit. I think I know the fix. He put new fuel pump and injectors in it. Still wouldn't start. Needs a door hinge. Has new radiator, wonder if it overheated? He said It was not a rust bucket. Shifts good and ran good till it died. he said no fuel at fuel rail. Thats no problem I just want to know if they a worth a damn after 200k plus. I know the fix. But who knows what else is really wrong with it, hard to tell if it aint running.

The deal: I have a 96 crown vic p71 I might trade him for it that runs and I just put a new trans in plus a bunch of other stuff. He is asking 1000 bucks for this rig and just needs a running car and is willing to trade other stuff to square the deal up. I have another car for long distance mpgs and running around town so I don't really need the crown vic. I do want an XJ but not a bunch of problems. Do any of you have 200k+ XJ running strong and shifting good. It's an automatic. I think I got the fuel thing licked. After building a 01 XJ 6.5 long arm and other stuff up for my friend who cant change his own oil I find myself thinking I should build my own. LETS HEAR IT

sounds expensive for a non-running 200k+ xj. You can find them running for around that much. I got my xj for $1400 running great, 96 with 130k. look around, guarantee you'll find a better deal.

I have one with just over200000 and so does my daughter. we take them out wheelin and we drive to and from the trailhead each time they are both running strong. She overheated hers 4 or 5 times and it finally cracked the head on the last one. Bought a head from the local jy for 35 bucks and installed it and it is still running strong. I did check the cylinder walls while it was apart and they looked good. she has 150 to 160 compression across all cylinders.

I have had two hits on the crown vic And they where trades for guns and boat. For some reason know one is calling. I have it on CL. I need to post pics though I always look right past no pic ads. That might be it???? Blue book says $2100 4 the CV but I got it on there for 1500? I don't get it.

Oklahoma, just moved here from Ohio s & I would need a XJ to pull the boat and haul the guns with though. It would be putting the boat before the Cherokee so to speak.

cl can take some time to sell things that are not in high demand. a good way to sell cars on there is to get it clean and take 4 pics that look really good. I would try to find another xj because 1000 for a non running rig is not right. be patient, finding the right xj will save you money in the long run. Make sure that you do your research on xj's and find the right base for what you are trying to do. if you want to mod the f out of it then changing everything may not be a big deal. If you just want to have a cool rig and not spend all your money on parts but still go wheelin then you need to find an xj with the good parts on it like a dana 44, not a dana 35, etc. 91 and newer are the good years mostly, not to say you wont find a good 84 but if you want to go wheelin then you are probly gona want the newer model. 200,000 isnt a long life for a jeep if its the 4.0 inline 6, but if it was not maintained well and driven hard then that could be it. I have seen xj's for 500 in running condition with new black steel rims and new tires you just gotta find the right college kid. dont give up on sellin the cv just yet.

yes xj's are fine well past 200k I have had two that had 300k

on the other hand I would not give more than $500 for what you are describing. you will definitely find a better deal.

I bought mine with 160k with 4.5"lift good 32" tires and a 8.25 rear for $1,700.

my advice is be patient and find a good deal. I tell anyone looking for a 4x4 that xj's are the most underrated 4x4's and the best on your wallet by far.

but good luck what ever you do.
