Yeah, I guess 25-30 will be a good balance for me. Never been pulled over in 3 years of driving, so i'll have to keep my fingers crossed haha.
And the law in NC is 35% all over, besides the windshield, but my first post was referring to XJs. Since it's classed as an SUV, after the first windows it can be down to 5%

I thought Xj's were an SUV as well until I got blasted for it NOT being an SUV on another forum. Apparently, they are classified as a stationwagon and that is how they were marketed. So the stationwagon jokes are actually not jokes. I'm researching this for myself because I'm curious to know if it's true. Apparenly this guy had the 1984 brochure that came with his cherokee.
You just jinxed yourself saying you've not been pulled over. You know that right?

That's funny, I always called my xj a station wagon since it was stock. Just checked my title though..."sport utility".
Either way, I think if it's a station wagon, it is still okay to tint the back windows to SUV specs. The reason it's done is because there's no enclosed trunk, so you can tint the windows to keep people from seeing the goods.

Heres mine! 2001 sport. It's the legal tint for Florida. I think 18% upfront and 15% everywhere else. Had to go legal cause the old man is LEO... Would look good with 5% all the way but wouldn't look good for him if you know what I mean

Factory on all the back (20% I think), nothing on the front. Been thinking about doing the front too, but at night you can barely see out the back windows. If Im in a dark area and need to back up, I literally have to open the door and hang out it to see. Need some backup lights in the bumper or something.
