I think you're going to the other extreme... nobody said not to add power... what good would power do in a slammed jeep anyway though? make sure you bounce the body off the pavement alot? keep it around stock height like that qwkjeep if it's a 2 wheel drive and rod the hell out of it. honestly slamming any vehicle has absolutely no purpose at all except looks. There's just no benefits to it. Now when you think jeep... you think Capability. Everything on a jeep is about functionality. That's how the designers intended it. Now I can see slamming a 64 impala if you're into that whole "gangsta" click. but I don't see a slammed xj winning any car shows, or picking up any women. Face it guys. Ghetto chicks like caddilacs, trailer park chicks like mudders and camaros, and rich chicks like 500SL's... sure there's a few exceptions, but for the most part that's the way it is. Not trying to bash you for your ideas. Just want to know why in the hell you would want to?
Your extremely wrong about a lowered car/truck not having any benefits.
Ever hear of body roll? And center of gravity? Hmmm wonder why most race cars are semi low... it must be because it "looks" cool

Apparently you haven't pulled your head out your *** yet and realized that no were in the title of this forum does it say "offroad" just because most jeep people customize there trucks for offroad use dose not mean that every jeep needs to be an offroad vehicle.just because its your way doesn't mean its the right way for every truck, maybe you didn't read my post clearly
i wish somebody with a "Street XJ" would go up for cherokee of the month i would vote for them just so people could see that its not an offroad cherokee forum, maybe more Street jeep people would show up and post
the time and money it takes to properly "slam" a vehicle goes way above just putting a lift kit and bigger tires on an XJ, don't get me wrong i love offroading, going out and slamming down on some rocks, dragging the side down a trail, and hitting the mud pits but when i first signed up here and first put the lift and tires on my XJ i was doing it for the looks, these jeeps look good and you don't see many in the Streettruck/minitruck category so more power to the street jeeps, and all you one track minded guys need to just pass up the threads that have anything to do with lowering jeeps.

Amen bro. I have a s10 on air ride and LOVE it. I also just became the owner of a 2000 jeep cherokee sport. I also LOVE it now. I guess you could say im an odd ball and like best of both worlds. And it does take A LOT more work to property install air ride on a truck/suv - Notching the frame, boxing it in, setting up the 2,3,4,5 link depending on taste. etc etc

right, when your rockers hit the cement, that may hinder body roll a bit. I doubt you're putting the spring rates in that slammed XJ that you see the cars on nascar using though... and I've never seen a race car with 20" rims.

If you want to lower a vehicle, lower it. If you want to raise a vehicle, raise it. If you think lowering a jeep is stupid, that's your opinion. If you think lowering a jeep would be cool, do it.
Just cuz a few people think it's 'tarded doesn't mean it is. It's your vehicle and you do what you want. We should be able to discuss stuff like this on this forum without all the negativity. I don't like the idea of someone coming to this forum or my other forum and getting bashed and not feeling welcome cuz they don't follow what everyone else is doing.
That's just my opinion.....

Did i say anything about it being so slammed rockers hit? or 20 inch wheels on a race car? Your clearly just wanting to fight and put words in my mouth that I didn't say. I said you were INCORRECT on lowering cars/trucks having no benefit. Your wrong and cant even admit it. BTW your incorrect again, The frame would hit before the rockers, unless its body dropped or Z channeled (im sure you will have to google this to know what im even talking about)

wow dude... don't get all offended. The word slammed was used... I guess your right, back in the day slammed cars might have rode on 10's... lol. And yes, the Unibody rails would've hit first, you're right. 10 points.

I'm talking about cars or trucks that have a soild frame and not a unibody. Your posts speak for themselves. Have a good day

oh, ok, you're talking about S10's and blazers then... I would like to clarify that my posts on this Cherokees forum were referring to XJ's as that's what this thread is about. I was only mentioning other vehicles as comparisons. Apparently you saw red and misunderstood. understandable.

These "lowering my XJ" threads always seem to get way out of hand on every forum, every time they pop up. Ugh, it always turns into an argument...
Back to the topic... My plan for a lowered XJ always involved using the rear coils from a ZJ in the front, and a SUA setup in the rear along with a 2" add a leaf. Measure for the right shocks, and grab a ZJ V8 front swaybar. I haven't actually done it yet, but from the research i have done, it seems like a reasonable build plan.
