im thinking a 3 inch drop a 3 inch wide body kit some IFS - IRS and 4 12 inch wide tires might do the trick .. if you look at these xjs they are nothing more than a jacked up station wagon ... think about it ....... i lifted my jeep 8 inches and dumb amounts of ground clearance but that stupid chevy silverado (that is stock) still sits higher than my jeep ...because the body is so tall but the body on a xj is just as big as a car body ... it really can go either way

Default Slammin

Ya go ahead, slam it, slam it down, right to the ground.
Being and XJ, I will cry when I run it over.

sell your xj to someone who deserves it.
its not about how tall the body looks because its not how high the roof is that makes it good for wheelin. go buy a chevy and a *** tech lift or drop kit, youll be happy crawlin the mall in that...
or scrape your from on speed bumps

You do realize that even if someone were to do ALL of the fab work themselves, just the materials required to accomplish something like that would be around $800, possibly more possibly less. At the very least, you're looking at custom shocks with coilovers the shortest you can find, along with lots and lots of tube work. It'd be a royal PITA.

Comparing an XJ to a fullsize pickup is not an apples to apples comparison. Compare it to a Tacoma, S10, or Ranger of similar vintage and its a different ballgame.

^^Now that right there is how it should be done if you are gonna lower an XJ.. Every man for his own, if you were lowering a 4Wheel drive, i could understand being flamed on, but they made 2wd models that i see fit for some slam'age...

An XJ lowered in my mind doesnt look right until i see this.. But you can take basically any make, model vehicle, slam it, tub it and throw a cowl hood on it, and it makes a world of diffrence.

I personally like my lowered vehicles.. heres my DD

And my '79 Malibu Street/Strip

The XJ is awesome, that is definately different, but i dont think that was the original posts idea, he wants to lower beyond user capability, the s-10 is at home on the ground, they were not much good for anything unless they were 4 wheel, and the malibu is sweet
