Slip Yoke Eliminator Question?
Ok so i just lifted my jeep, i bought the rough country kit 3in, and a lil bigger shackle but then i also added two other leafs from stock cherokee suspension for when i tow my trailer so i don't sage alot. well now i need a slip yoke eliminator! because it raised the rear of the jeep Im sitting at around 4'in maybe another half inch higher 4.5"? i dont know
My question is, What is the best kind of slip yoke eliminator to get? whats the cheeper one cause i dont got alot of money. should i install it myself or just have someone else do it? easy to do?
last but not least can someone explain in full what it does? And does anyone have pictures/video of them installing one?

you can find a cheap one here http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch..._Code=IR-X_HNT read up on that a little bit. This is called a hack and tap SYE. Someone with experience/knowledge of the different types will get you all the info, but as far as i know that is the cheapest route to go.

ok, yeah im gonna try and find something online. I asked a local shop how much a slip yoke eliminator would be including install cause i dont really want to do it myself but if i have too i will. They quoted me $900. I laughed at them and said too bad i paid less then that for my entire jeep!

every jeep is different you could have no vibes at all at 4.5 and a t case drop or you could get bad vibes...you really never know but most people just do the t case drop until they can save up for an SYE...and correct me if im wrong here guys if you have the option of part time, full time, and 4 low its the 242

ok cool, i'll look, gonna have to do some cleaning to find it haha. yeah from what i read on here, I think 17in is stock height right? Im at 21 in the front and 21.4 in the rear.
if what your saying i should be ok without the Slip yoke kit? but then why do i have a nasty popping noise? i thought if you were over 3.5in lift you needed one? or at least a transfer case drop.
im just asking cause i have no idea what needs to be done.

17" in front, 17.5" in back is stock height....center of wheel to bottom of flare.
You have a nasty popping noise because something is not performing correctly. Every jeep is different, and lifting them creates strain and changes the geometry of your suspension, steering and driveline. Some jeeps can go up 4.5" and never have an issue, but you can take a different jeep from the same year and throw 3" on it and it can cause all kind of issues.
You need to diagnose YOUR jeep and figure out what is making noise and what is causing the issues. You can't just base it off of what worked for someone else. Use it as a starting point, yes. But you can't just assume that what did/did not cause an issue for Joe's 93 XJ, will apply exactly in the same way to yours.

Well its not the joke/shaft. I just jacked the back end up, and took it outta gear. started spinning the tires. the clunking noise is coming from the back right side. and not the u-joints or the transfer case. I dropped the drive shaft, and you spin the wheels and you get this shaving sound, and if you spin it faster it clunks. anyone else have this problem.
so its not the yoke, or the drive shaft.
and i have the 231 if anyone was interested
