some sand/clay is a whole lot slipperier than it will look.
as for the boggers, they are only good if you're going straight or on flat ground. if you're on a side slope, you will only do the same as the op. except you will be able to turn and burn. but sitting on a side slope is just as scary as hell.
glad you didn't go for a swim. did you get any shrooms?

sand is def an issue with all terrains , and baja claws . and simlar tirres . only ones ive used in sand . when using in sand i usually put in 4 lo . and run it in 3rd , this gives you a lot of torque , thus not letting you stick . in two wheel . you will dig a hole with those tires mentioned , and almost never get out if you dont have 4wd , or another rig. also in sand you cant floor it with those tirews . you have to let 3rd let you walk out with ease.

I wanna see a pic of those tires when you get them washed! It is always I bit freaky the first time you deal with something like this when wheeling. You wanna see paranoid, my roommate was scared to go up a dirt hill, literally just a hill, no ruts, no rocks, not slippery, no surprises... So yea, I can totally see not wanting to get into a worse situation there!
