Aaand that's what I was getting at.
Thank you, sir.
Sometimes your not paying for something just because of the name. Sometimes the product is worth the asking price.

I am a HUGE ARB fan, and just want about every one of their products. For $175.99 + Shipping, just for one... No thanks. I could justify the price if I was a hardcore wheeler or spent a few weeks on the roads with my Jeep doing an Overland trip, but for what I do, my SOLID differential covers fit my bill. Especially at $130 + Shipping for two.

I'm running Riddler covers, and so far they are holding up well, and they do have a lifetime warranty.
I change my differential oil once a year, so the drain plug and dipstick aren't really a selling point for me. When I change oil in the diffs, I want to pull the covers to look at the gears, and lockers for any abnormal wear. I look at my diffs after every outing for leaks, and since I wheel two or three times a week they get checked enough.

Its is what it is. But saying the ARB cover is overpriced just because its got ARB on it is incorrect. There are things that set it apart from the ones it was compared to.
I still run my stock covers...for now.

I run Rock Crusher & Riddler cast covers - mud, water & rocks. For as often as I inspect the diffs & change oil, a dipstick & drain plug are worth almost zilch. I use Lube locker gaskets so gear oil change is a snap & my skinny little pinky is an excellent dipstick !

I honestly ordered a set of these yesterday .... as the rear D35 Cover plug to me seems very poor design ... I do more trail riding -Mud stuff than anything else so I think I will be fine.

Also I wouldn't worry too much about the cast iron ones cracking. Think, the differential housing is also cast iron, if you manage to crack open the case you are doing something really wrong

IMO, what sets it apart is not worth the huge difference in price for most of us. I believe the ARB could have those extrra features & still cost less. Yes, you are paying for the name, and this from another ARB fan. When everyone else was buying RE & RC suspension, I bought OME for twice the price. 6+ years later, they have almost 0 sag. That's value for price.

Same as buying ARB recovery straps, cost about 3 times as much as Smittybuilt straps of the same strength.
